I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams-Raji Bomodeoku Qùãdrì

Today I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams as I visited Mount Nyeri in Kenya , the Museum housing the graves of Lord Baden and Olave Baden Powell ; the Founders of World Scouting and Guide respectively. The grave is a purveyor and one of the fundamental premises of our Scouting history and thoughts .As a young Scout 15 years ago , I learnt for the first time in literatures and through teachings provided by my historian Scout Leader" Idowu Olajide" about the exemplary life and times of Baden Powell , most notably his wish to be laid to rest after going home in Nyeri , Kenya . His wife Olave Baden Powell had prepared her will shortly after her husband’s passing in 1941 that when she’s also gone home , her body should be cremated in England and ashes buried into her husband’s grave in Nyeri, Kenya. Baden and Olave Powell share one grave demarcated by marking . Powell’s life and values are example serving and proving the worth of volunteerism through the World’s Leading educational youth Movement , "Scouting" . I joined other Scoutpreneur friends from 13 African countries to visit the historic site in Kenya . We serenaded the Founder as we reflected on his life and examples of the former British Army General and the Founder of World Scouting . The Camp Warden Maine, told stories about the times of the Founder in Nyeri showcasing his impacts in the Nyeri County. Hundreds of young Scouts were also at the Museum to share from the experience of the Founder. On remembrance month , we renew our commitment to the principles and values led by the Founder. We celebrate the extraordinary life of Baden Powell and his work through Scouting. We honour Olave’s legacy and courage to begin the Guide . Filed the Scarfs of the Scout Association of Nigeria and Lagos State Scout Council to the scarf gallery at Baden Powell Historical Gardens, Nyeri, Kenya. At the Direction of the Chief Commissioner ,the Nigerian Flag of the Scout Association of Nigeria will be hosted permanently among other flags on BP'S celebration at the Museum.
