</ IKORODU SCOUT DIVISION CELEBRATES 2022 FOUNDERS DAY IN CAMP WELCOMES MEMBERS OF THE NDLEA TO SENSITIZE ITS SCOUT ON DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION-REPORT -MRS SANNI OLUWARANTI. Report on just concluded Scout Program. *Topic: Substance Abuse Prevention among Scout in IKORODU Division.* Venue: Scout Camp Ibeshe. Date Conducted: 19th February, 2022. Time: 11am Audience: IKORODU Scout Division Attendance: 1. Igbogbo/Bayeku Scout local association 2. Ijede Scout local association 3. IKORODU West Scout local association 4. IKORODU North Scout local association 5. IKORODU Central Scout local association 6. Ibafo scout local association. The program commenced with a *FOCUSED GROUP DISCUSSION* in which the FACILITATOR IN PERSON OF MRS SANNI from NDLEA IKORODU AREA COMMAND group the participants into six (6) according to the district represented. Each group were asked to a. Identify the various types of drugs that people abuse in there community. b. Reasons for this act of drug Abuse in there immediate community. c. Possible way of preventing drug abuse in there community. After the FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION (FGD), responses from each group were collated and analysed. *Report Continued* Results from the FDG shows as follows: 1. The responses show that Marijuana was drug of abuse mentioned among the six (6) groups. Followed by Tramadol and Alcohol and Tobacco. 2. That foundation is the major cause of the drug abuse. Such as Lack of parental control, friends, poverty, unemployment and lack of proper awareness. 3. The solution provided by majority was adequate publicity on drug abuse at community most especially for those selling, parental care and also reaching out to school children. At the end of this exercise *Ms Tolu Ologbe NDLEA make a paper presentation on Cannabis as a case study and question and answer was entertained. Then a Take home message and Project was assigned to each group as follows: Take Home Message:

A drug free Child is the Pride of Parents. A drug free Scouter is Fit for Scouts Activities and Role Model in the community. Protect Your Brain, Preserve your life. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy. Rules: Scouter are not to possess, distribute, transport, sell or ABUSE DRUGS. When you are on medical prescription report to camp manager so that you will not  involve rigorous exercise. Project Drug Abuse Preventive Education on Scout Founders Day at Ikorodu Division Camp. 1. To form Drug Free Club WADA (WAR AGAINST DRUG ABUSE) in each district of Scout in ikorodu Division. 2. Each group with their leaders to pay advocacy Visit to Community Leaders. 3. Check out Scout International booklet on drug (America Boys Scout booklet and Code of conduct on Marijuana Fitness section). 4. Scout to work with parents, teachers and Scout leaders. 5. Each group to report back to Scout master the activity covered during take home assignment and project. Activities to be Carrie out during the Project: a. Debate on drug Abuse and Mental Health. b. film show c. Jingle d. Voice Over.
